Reincarnated Knights of the Round Table

As with many of my sourcebooks, this one started with a chance purchase in a used book store: a nice, recolored, hardback anniversary edition of Camelot 3000 (DC Comics). Re-reading this classic graphic novel gave me an idea for a short book that takes some of the mechanics I’ve created for use in my campaign worlds: especially the Reincarnate feat, and other feats designed for Culture of Choice and craft a player race as fun as the science-fantasy adventure of Camelot 3000. This book makes an interesting companion to the recently released Weapons of Old, since many of those magic items are drawn from the same tales that inspired this PDF.

Reincarnated Knights are designed as a flavorful counterpart to Culture of Choice’s Pagan Born. Like the Pagan Born, Reincarnated Knights are skillful and somewhat otherworldly adventurers, with the Knights distinguishing themselves with a penchant for heavy armor and a chivalrous devotion to the heroic myth of Christianity. This PDF includes details on Reincarnated Knights, as well as a new Cavalier order: The Order of the Grail, inspired by Arthurian lore and literature.

Since this is a rough, somewhat unfocused title I put out on a whim between larger projects, it's pay what you want. If you like what you see, let me know in the comments and I might expand this into a full release with additional options and a mini-campaign.

This book needs a sample character or two. Lancelot, Percival, Galahad. I'd like to see them statted. Great work, been checking out a lot of your stuff lately. Keep it up.

I had a chance to take a look at this, last night. This has some great ideas. Camelot 3000 is an underappreciated comic. I like the feats, and I'm intrigued by the "reincarnated race". I don't know if this is meant to be a "template" on top of humans, though. A little lost on that part. Beyond that, I would love to see more of this. I enjoy the premise of this.
I would love to see this, also, as a Starfinder plug-in. I think some parts would make great "themes" and "archetypes" for Starfinder. (Also, makes things a little closer to the comic.)

I've done a few other "Human" races with their own variant racial traits in my campaign settings. While genetically human and possessing the human subtype, these characters are a mechanically distinct race from the "Human" racial entry in the PFRPG, and Reincarnated Knights work the same way. they don't get the human bonus feat or skill ranks, just the racial traits listed in the book. Of course, if you want to run Reincarnated Knights as a template, that'd be easy enough to do. Off the cuff, I'd say it's a +1 CR template.

Good call on Starfinder. If and when I revisit this I'll likely dual stat things for Pathfinder/Starfinder.

Just realized, If you dual stated the reincarnated knight, then you could, theoretically play the same character in both a PF and SF game, simultaneously. That could almost be its own campaign.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
