“I never thought our own weapons and ship would be turned against us like this. I’m sorry I let whatever this thing is into the Hangar Control. We cannot let these aliens leave this ship. I’ve set the self-destruct mechanism, we have fifteen minutes to stop these things or die trying.”—Captain Michael Willard

SciFi Bridge is a single level interior map of a tactical room suitable for the bridge of a starship or space station.

SciFi Bridge is intended for use in far-future science fiction.

Adventure hook for use with this map:

Last Transmission Part Two (Continued from Hanger Control freebie): The small silicon-based life forms have infected most of the ship’s systems. They have taken over the ship’s 3d printers and have begun producing weapons to kill all alien carbon-based lifeforms on the ship.

The surviving crew is fighting an increasing difficult battle throughout the ship. Computer and engineering experts are trying everything they can to keep the aliens from completely taking over all the ship’s systems, greatly fearing they will take off life support if they gain control of that system, and restore control to lost systems.

Weapon and security experts are fighting weapons of their own design with the increased difficulty of trying to hit a weapon alone rather than a man holding the weapon.

Medical and science experts are furiously studying any of the animated object samples that were destroyed successfully so far, trying to analyze the alien lifeform and find some way to kill them on a microscopic level that doesn’t also kill the crew. The aliens must have a weakness!

The crew’s final stand is on the bridge. The silicon lifeforms create a laser cutter to breach the reinforced steel door leading to the bridge. They bring in an army of weapons and devices to assist with hacking into the bridge systems. Can the group survive the assault on the bridge long enough to find a way to take back control of the ship’s systems and exterminate the aliens?

This product contains a pdf and jpg file with large and spacious starship bridge. It is nicely laid out with a variety of grid systems, including no grid. It also includes an image suitable for use in a Virtual Tabletop like MapTool. It contains complete instructions about how to assemble the map if you print the pages.

Overall the image quality is good with detailed dressing. There's a lot of empty space for token/miniature movement. My only quibble is that there is almost too much empty space. Other than that I prefer pngs to jpgs so the background can be transparent.

We are glad you liked it, but confused that you added this as a comment instead of a review.
We have no objection to you changing the file to a png, it's quite easy to do if you have the right software.
We tend to stick to jpeg where possible as it means that the files are compatible with more programs.

Sorry. Mess up on my part. I'll move it over.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
