Great book but the file size is very large at 261 meg,is it possible to add a lo-res version for tablet use please? It does scroll and load very quickly on PC for me but I like to have my game pdfs on Ipad also and space is a consideration there.Thoroughly recommend book as is though-one of my favourite monster manuals.

The PDF doesn't seem to include the front or back cover when I download it. Is this a OBS glitch or something?

Why? I have never seen anyone deny art on a purchased pdf before.

Let me be frank. I am not happy to open up a brand new pdf -- that I purchased and was excited to see released -- to two blank pages. As far as presentation, that is very ugly. As far as policy, very off-putting. Unless this is corrected, I doubt I will repeat my business.

I agree with Gorgar W. This isn't my first PDF that doesn't include the cover image (I prefer to have the cover, but it's not a dealbreaker), but having it open to two blank pages is just very weird. You could at least cull the first two (blank) pages and have the first page of the PDF be the interior title page.

Sorry, I forgot to check for comments. The print edition had a couple issues with art looking "odd" the first proof. Second proof is now in pre-flight for printing and should be in my hands by the end of the week. If the problems are all resolved, then (fingers crossed), it should be set to go "live" by next weekend.

It should read Jeremy Mohler..I need to fix that!
Thanks for pointing it out. I definitely want all of the artists to be properly credited.

Yes. It is in "pre-flight". I am waiting for final set-up and a proof copy, which is a mandatory step from Onebookshelf. Hopefully, if all goes well it will be available in a few weeks. I am also offering a discount when you purchase both the pdf and the Print on demand book. The book will have a full color cover. This is my first product, so I am hopeful it all goes well. Thanks for the interest, and spread the word.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
