Hello, really enjoy this resource, as well as the others in your Wasteland series, but I had a question about one of the weapon mods in this supplement. Under the "Hardened Receiver" mod, it says the weapon does +1 damage per damage die rolled, does this increase with a crit or does it only go off the base number of dice? Thank you!

Hi Austin,

The +1 also applies to extra dice rolls for a critical hit as those are still considered weapon damage dice. It does not apply to class features that add extra damage dice on top of the weapon, such as the Scoundrel's Sneak Attack or the Scout's Enhance Damage.

Thank you for the speedy response! One more question for you as it just came up in the game I'm running. On page 51 underneath the "Chem Cook" archtype of the scientist, there's mention of a "dazed" condition under the Mind Muddler quickbrew. I can't find mention of this condition anywhere else in the resource. I also feel like you mentioned something about it in a previous comment or something of the like to someone else, but I can't remember or find it if that's the case.

Thanks for flagging this. I checked and while there was a description of dazed it is in Wasteland Wares and is really buried in the text, within the description of Hallucinogenic Gas.

The next version of both Wasteland Wanderers and Wasteland Wares will add a sidebar describing this condition, the effect of which is disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws (mechanically it's the same consequence as being poisoned, only the cause of the disadvantage is from mental befuddlement rather than physical sickness).

Disadvantage on all ability checks also makes the "disadvantage on social ability checks" currently described in Mind Muddler's effects redundant. That will also be fixed in the next update of Wasteland Wanderers, along with errata to the Mind Clouding Syringe and Hallucinogenic Gas in Wasteland Wares.

Hi Travis,

Wasteland Wares is *not* a complete game, so yes you will need some other stuff to make use of its content. Wasteland Wares includes supplemental rules for the 5e game, specifically being a guide to post-apocalyptic equipment, goods, and services. There are some player options, but aside from one new class most of these options are new archetypes for classes in another book in this series: Wasteland Wanderers. I recommend that Wasteland Wanderers and Wasteland Wares be paired, but if you have an alternative source of 5e-compatible player options that will work for your setting, Wasteland Wares will still have a lot of content you can use.

You will need access to the 5e rules, since the books in the Wasteland line don't reproduce the core rules that govern the 5e game or the tools you need to run it. They just address specific new rules you can add for post-apocalyptic play. In addition to 5e rules you will also need access to 5e monster statblocks, as our book of enemies...See more

Yo love your content, however why must you format your pdfs to landscape view? I find it difficult to read. Do you ever plan on changing the format to page view? Its cool if you don't. Also I'm working on a middle modern fantasy/ post apocalyptic setting thats overall goal is to be weird and cheesy as possible, but compelling lore for the world.... definitely not converting bigfoot into a playable race XD

Hey! Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification for this on my account for some reason.

I switched to landscape a long time back after realising that the normal use case for my pdfs will be electronic - portrait is fine for printed books, but landscape is more ideal for a screen (whether reading at your desktop, running a game from a laptop, or a tablet in landscape mode) because you can set the zoom level to have the entire page in your window and not need to scroll up and down as you read the columns.

I appreciate there might be reasons why this isn't ideal for everyone, of course. But on the whole, I think it's a more practical choice. If I got a considerable amount of negative feedback I might change it, but so far this has been the only complaint!

I'm glad you like and are getting use out of these products, anyway! I have two more planned: Wasteland Woes (monsters, natural hazards, traps) and Wasteland Wheels (vehicles) though it will likely be some time...See more

For the benefit of anyone considering this product who might be put off by the landscape format mentioned in these prior comments, the current version is in fact portrait (check the previews!)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
