“Once, we were many.  Guardians, teachers, and healers, plentiful and respected.  Now we hide to save ourselves, but more importantly, we hide to save the land.”

                                    — Oromis Goldbrand, Grimoire of the Caged Dawn.

Witches are characters that through their coven have learned the secrets of creating magic through manipulating their life force.  These secrets originate from celestial allies, infernal influence, or the meddling of the fey themselves.  Each coven has a differing dogma, but one thing is always true, the coven is your first, last and only loyalty.

as someone who has studied witchcraft and energy work for over 30 years and as a energy worker as a reiki healer im not a big fan of how this is laid out...finding it a little prejudiced and missing the point .. .there are some good ideas but it's too sterotyped as a character class...it's not a class i would enjoy playing as it falls short of what my understanding of a witch would be .....a witch wouldnt use their own essence and life force ..it would shorten life ..the premis is wrong...witches would channel energy and blend energys internally from different energy sources......from where the coven places its power if a memeber of the coven..hence the attraction of joining ...from the elements fire / water / earth and air ..from a external spiritual source....thats the link to the coven sphere it provides a unusual energy source..sort of like a internal alchemist .using a little of all sorts of types of energy and blending it within...that where the life pool part would take place ..through absorbed energys...See more

I appreciate your input, the class is designed as an alternative casting class and is intentionally inaccurate to any religious references. I have studied paganism, neopaganism, and many other old world religions including druidism, animism, and nordic heathenry. Just as a cleric in 5e is inaccurate to priests of christianity or polytheistic religions; or the real world Warlock which is a traitor to a coven and an outcast, versus the casting class in 5th edition, this class is a fantasy based class that uses a new and unique mechanic that uses hit dice as a resource.

My apologies if you find it offensive or prejudiced, it is only meant to be a unique system of mechanics for a fantasy casting class in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. I find that using any real world religious accuracy is asking for problems.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
