From mad cultists calling up tentacled horrors to holy priests praying for warrior angels to clockwork contraptions crafted by a mad scientist, the summon ally Power is found throughout just about every Savage Worlds setting. Using this book, you'll be able to make that power your own, customizing your allies to fit the concept you have in mind for what your hero calls to battle - or use one of the deadly rivals or monsters in this book to challenge your players!

Inside you will find...

  • A system for designing your own allies at each rank, allowing you to build your summoned allies the way you imagine them and make sure things are balanced.
  • A selection of new Edges and Hindrances (10 in total) related to conjuration and its practitioners.
  • 36 sample creatures to summon across all Ranks, all created using the ally creation system, from the sneaky Scout to the ship-shattering Talosan Titan.
  • 10 fleshed-out NPCs to use in your game that demonstrate the use of the mechanics and concepts found in this supplement, ranging from an elven ecoterrorist to a dinosaur-summoning, time-traveling big game hunter.

Hello,

Great book. I have one question. On page 32 Father Callahan has a Visions edge. Which book is that from?

It's from the Horror Companion. There's a mini-system for having a character who can tell the future. Father Callahan is a prophet, but it's not under his control very well, so the Visions Edge fits better than giving him a Power for it.

Hello,

I had the following questions about The Steed companion who has an extended duration of an hour for +2PP.

How is that extra duration/PP cost determined? It's not a build point option from what I can see and it's not a power modifier I'm familiar with.

Is it it reasonable to extrapolate that to companions in general?

I added that as an example of specific modifiers you can add on to allies to fill their role better. The point was that since the Mount isn't as combat-oriented as the other allies, and riding is usually longer than a few rounds, you'd want an ally that can last all day to replicate something like D&D's Mount spell. I wouldn't allow it to be extended to all other allies as a general rule, though there's an Edge for that.

I'm seeing odd characters in place of words in Adobe Reader on Android. I think something went wrong in the final render.

I talked to you one-on-one about this, just thought I'd address it on here too.

I've pounded my head on this for a few hours and I can't figure out what's going on. It's specific to Acrobat Reader on Android devices, and seems to be related to the font I used, but not the embedding/export settings. If I do an updated version of this file, I'll address this as part of the list of fixes.

No worries. I look forward to the update. I'll try a different PDF reader in the meantime. Xodo is pretty good.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
