Alright, Alright, I admit, it sounds like great fun! And it has some pretty Amazing artwork... but at first glance, I was hoping for something more realistic and non-parody. If anybody remembers a movie called "Cast a Deadly Spell" (Gods, I'm getting old...), maybe something like that, only more contemporary.
Doesn't mean I won't play this, though! ;)

Hey Steve!

Thanks for the kind words about SWAT. We're BIG FANS of "Cast a Deadly Spell" and "Witch Hunt" (my favorite of the two, love Dennis Hopper), so walking down those paths (breaking down those doors, if you will) is totally on our radar now.

Two points that I hope will reassure you. (1) The fluff might be parody but the crunch is all rather serious, and can directly be applied to any setting of your choice. As you can see from the JumpStart we have worked to make it a tool kit and where possible model the same concepts with different mechanics. For example, the "camera" can be played by a player character who makes their choices on their turn and dishes out the bonuses and narrative control in a manner similar to a bard (using spells) or leader character (using edges). Or it can be run by the Game Master or by any of the players as an invisible narrative device using setting rules, etc.

So we hope that all the tools and mechanics that...See more

Cool!
Another take on it is "Operation: Chaos" by Poul Anderson, the story of a werewolf partnering up with a witch for a secret mission during WWII.
The stories continue bringing them up to modern times. Cpt. Matuchek preferred Lucky Strikes because they would light up anytime, even in the rain.

I'd like to see something where you could do a "Charlie's Angels" or "Magnum P.I."

Now, all you have so far is the Jump Start?

I'll Definitely be keeping an eye out for it...

I love the subtle digs on the Lord of the Rings and other Fantasy Tropes. I've already got players in on the jumpstart. I love the sample characters. I love the cheekiness. Well done, guys. Five stars, all the way.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
