Trading Places #2 Blacksmith

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Bring your fantasy city to life with 'Trading Places' a range of system-neutral products for your campaigns.

Each product in the range details a single place of business, with colourful NPCs, rumours, adventure ideas, a detailed map and key of the building and more.

The Blacksmith's shop can be the heart of a small community, but even in a larger town or city its importance should not be underestimated. A good smith knows his neighbourhood and what they might need form nails and hinges to tool blades, horseshoes and of course weapons and armour.

Wayland is a very good smith.

He and his sons, along with his apprentice, can make just about anything your PCs might need. His shop is always busy with people and can be a great place to pick up rumours and news, whether it be local rumour or news from far and wide as travellers often stop her to have their horses re-shod or to replace some weapon lost in the journey to town.

Rumours abound about Wayland, some claim he has supernatural powers, others say he is descended from either Dwarves or Giants and knows secrets of metal that few mortals know. Of course, such rumours are probably unfounded... probably.

Meet Wayland and his family in this new product which can be dropped into your game wherever you like. Use it alone or flesh out larger parts of your fantasy city by using it in conjunction with other products in the range.

Included in the pack are full colour maps of the Blacksmith shop and house, detailed NPCs which you can use with any RPG system, a Key to the map which can be used as-is or expanded upon, a collection of rumours about the Blacksmith and his business or family (or both) and almost a dozen adventure ideas for you to use – or not – as you wish.

Next time your PCs need a Blacksmith, have them stop by Wayland's smithy, they will thank you for it in the end.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
