Lost in the Fantasy World is an adventure game where players assume the roles of kids from the real world who have been magically transported to a Fantasy World of magic and monsters. Gifted with strange and amazing artifacts by the mysterious Mentor, they struggle against all the dangers of the Fantasy World in their seemingly endless and surprisingly episodic quest to find a way home. Armed with these amazing artifacts, they often find themselves caught up in strange adventures where only their courage and these powerful relics offer any hope of protecting a realm riddled with peril and danger!

Lost in the Fantasy World is inspired by the classic Dungeons & Dragons cartoon of the 1980s, movies like Neverending Story, and The Chronicles of Narnia. Thus, it uses a game system that allows players to rely on their creativity and work as a team to solve problems instead of resorting to just hitting things hard. Lost in the Fantasy World is a game about young heroes helping each other as well as those in need—even in the face of their own struggles.

The rules only use six-sided dice, are easy to use, provide great narrative cues to drive the game forward and the book comes with tons or tools and tables to help the group come up with more and more adventures as they play.

Everything in the game, including characters, Opponents, Obstacles and the setting is defined by Traits. These can be freely created by the Mentor and the players and not only give evocative descriptions of their subject, but influence how they operate in the game, giving advantages and disadvantages on rolls.

I really, really, really wish publishers would stop putting the first six pages of their product up as a preview without any consideration for what's on those pages. The purpose of a preview is to help sell the product. If it doesn't do that, it's not a good preview.

In this case, half the pages of the preview are full-page artwork. Gorgeous artwork, but it doesn't tell me anything about how the game plays. Then there's the title page and the credits page, which also tell me nothing about how the game plays. The only page with any actual content is the table of contents -- which in this case is extremely generic, and therefore tells me almost nothing about the game plays.

The concept of this game is one I'm very interested in, but I'm not going to pay money for it without some idea of what rules system it uses. At the moment, the only thing I know about the rules is that it uses exclusively six-sided dice.

Will this work for a one-shot or would that feel too 'easy'?

Do you know what 'isekai' is? It's basically the anime version of this. Could be worth referencing/mining for inspiration.

Im a big fan. I have almost everything you publish here. I tried looking you up online, but only found a profile on a Brazilian singer/dancer/songwriter. If someone like me wanted to know more about you and your various published works, where could we look? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
