Small Arms of the Modern Worldis part 1 of the 2 part compilation The Weapons of the Modern World. Inside these covers you can find over 400 modern firearms. Ranging from legendary semi-automatic pistols like the Colt M1911A1 and the Beretta M9A3 to more exotic ones like the Polish WKW “WilkW anti-materiel rifle. Oldest weapons in the book are from the 19thcentury and the newest are still being developed or field tested in 2020. Also couple of fictional firearms from a popular science fiction universe are included. Every weapon is converted to be used in the Twilight: 2000 2nd Edition roleplaying game. Unfortunately no. I would have wanted to have it possible, but there were a truck load of technical issues in the way and solving them would have been quite expensive and too time consuming. I've made few copies as DIY, but it's quite expensive and slow process.

Also, I never knew making books like that has so many processes. I am impressed that you made a few diy copies but I never knew it was that hard. I am sorry to here that.

I found the book to be very nicely presented with very good illustration and an easy to follow layout. However I do find major issues with Dam and Pen for a number of weapons. Being a Vet, and have been reloading, gunsmithing, and shooting various firearms for the last 50 years. The Dam and Pen does not reflect what some of these rounds actual can do. Don't get me wrong I love the book and use it but have tweaked the values to be more realistic.

No problem! Thank you very much for your feedback and it's always nice to hear that my work used.
When I started this project I pondered wheter I should go for realism or for the game's perspective and I decided to go for the later. The first versions (Not published) used the game's formulas. How ever, I in my opinion the original formulas didn't give enough difference for the different gear and ammunition so I did my best to tweak the formulas.
I've been expanding the "final" patch a bit for my own use. It's not entirely out of the question that there might be either a new update.
Thanks for purchasing! =D

New versions (2.1) of both WOTMW-guidebooks have been sent to the publisher and should be published shortly.
Updates include mostly writing fixes, but also few new pictures, weapons, stat fixes etc... Full version notes can be found from the books.

Just a heads up. I'm working on an update which should fix several issues. 70% done and will try to push it published after Easter. I sincerely apologize for the amount of issues. That being said, I'm not a professional writer and English is not my native language. I'm still doing the best I can to keep paying customers satisfied.

Update will fix at least the following:
1) Typos and other writing errors such as missing words, unfinished sentences and usage of "seized" instead of "ceased"
2) Arsenal Shipka SMG now has correct information. It was accidentally substituted partly with Auto-9.
3) WWII-era rifles will be included. It was accidentally left out from v2.0
4) All .357 revolvers have now also .38 Special as an option if the revolver previously had less than four optional chamberings.
5) Ammunition have now also availability, crate size, weight and price. However, as stated in the guide book all availability and pricing should be subjected...See more

That might be interesting, but unfortunately I have to say no. That might be interesting topic though, but I just don't know enough about the standard (and more specific) equipment and secondly, fun-time-money factor is just too off. So far WOTMW compilations have taken about 400-500hrs.
I still have couple of fixes to make for these two guides and after that the conversions to upcoming 4th edition.

I purchased this yesterday and I have found several errors.

1. Like Stanley B, the prices while reflecting US currency has the European comma for the decimal. I also agree that the cents should be removed from the prices.
2. Pages 165-167 are missing. Those pages contain the "WWII-Era Rifles".
3. I understand that this is a "ROLEPLAYING GAME", but I am not a fan of adding things to a that don't belong. Like fictional weapons from different movies or RPGs. You purposely include fictional weapons and mention them. I suggest removing them as they have no place in the game.
4. Auto-9 - Arsenal Shipka - pg95 (incorrect listing, not fictional, and calibers & magazine capacities are wrong)
5. All revolvers chambered in .357 Magnum can shoot .38 Special.
6. When you list a firearm's caliber you show it as 9*19mm or 5,7*28mm. First the calibers should be displayed as 9x19mm or 5.7x28mm. Americans don't use "*" when dealing with calibers and we...See more

Thank you for your feedback. I'll try to fix some these pointers (especially 2 and 4).

1) The comma and the cents come from the software which I used. Where I'm from we use commas as the separator and it comes from localization of the software. The cents are also fixed, as those cells are marked as currency to get the $-sign and the currency format shows cents. Whether I want them or not...
2) Missing pages. Will send a fix to publisher asap and hope it will be published asap.
3) ...
4) Arsenal Shipka. Will fix this asap. A human error...
5) ...
6) I'm European and these books are made for everyone, not just Americans. We use commas and asterix. Don't mean to offend, but they're not going to change.
7) I agree and those availability values are to be considered more as guidelines and should be adjusted by GMs. This was stated in the introduction.
8) Those weapons are converted to full-auto for gaming purposes.
9) This will possibly be fixed later....See more

Several errors that aggravated me to no end in this (also found in all versions I've looked at, but Small arms and the Heavy Weapons).

1. The prices are given in "$xxx,xx". As the $ are supposed to reflect US currency, you do NOT use the European comma for the decimal. Frankly, there's zero reason to have the cents listed AT ALL in the prices, so you could avoid the whole period vs. comma mess by just removing the cents from all the prices.

2. Repeated use of the word "seized" when the word should be "ceased" - they may sound similar, but

"seized" means "taken (usually by force, as if they were confiscated)"
"ceased" means "came to a stop"

There were a number of other errors I spotted going through the original file (not printed out the later revisions as yet, just skimmed through it looking for the two errors above). Things like missing words in descriptions (which your mind can sometimes...See more

Hi Stanley,
Thank you for your feedback. I'm most sorry for the number of grammar errors and I do understand (and appreciate) that it aggravates. I've been doing my best to fix the grammar and spelling, but it seems I've done a "p*ss poor job". I apologize for that. Both of these guides are originally a hobby project gone wild and written by a non-English native, European amateur.

I'll ask for the publisher (FFE) if we can publish one more update later this spring or during summer, in which I'll try to fix the linguistic errors.

Best regards, the Author.

I don't suppose there's any chance of getting this (and vol 2) with T2k v1 stats (instead of v2)? There are still some of us that highly prefer v1.

You're refering to the 1st edition of T2K? It would be a huge task and if I'll ever start doing it, it propably won't happend any time soon. I'm sorry. Of course, if there's enough interest, then it might be a whole different story.
Most probable next step is converting these compilations to upcoming 4th Ed.

Thanks for the feedback. Nice hear from fellow Finn!

Sorry for the corrupted picture. It's seems to be related to the picture format and PDF-reader version. On the equipment I have in use, there's no corrupted pictures but ie. on the 1st draft the publisher reported about dozen of them.
I'll fix this (as well as the USP Tactical picture which is actually FN509T), but first I'm going to wait a while to gather few more possible errors and flaws etc...

Nice! I just felt that it time to update the T2K arsenal. I know that most of the hardware "couldn't" exist in T2K world, but I just decided to leave that for the GMs to deal with. =P Also I tried to contribute on the visuals and all as many cool looking items as I could find.

Nope. I searched IMFDB.com for hardware I saw in movies and series's, Wikipedia for weapon listings of modern military forces. For weapon specs and ammunition I used Wikipedia and manufacturers/resellers websites. In some rare occasions also public releases from military forces on their hardware.

This (and the Part 2, HWOTMW) is a completely new book. All values are counted using refined formulas. They can be used along side the previous guidebooks or as a replacement.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
