Asunder: The Seeker's Guide

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Asunder is a dark fantasy RPG in a world without metal that uses the Shadow of the Demon Lord game system.

You hold the Seeker’s Guide for Asunder in your hands, a resource that contains all the rules you need to be a Seeker (player), as well as many your Keeper (GM) needs to run the game. Asunder is a game of people seeking truth, power, and belonging in a savage world without metal or Gods.

The world is broken, broken long ago by the Gods who made us—broken when they fled to fight their eons-long war and took with them all the metal of the land. And their children, they left behind in a world that cares for them not at all. A world savage, beautiful and wondrous all at once.

But the people adapted to what was left. When the gods created humans, they invested in them a fragment of their own Essence, and it bonded with the world around them, allowing them to command animals and plants and reshape their bodies. With no metal, they crafted other substances and made symbiotic lifeforms to act as weapons, armor, and tools. And a few found shards of Chaos. The power the Gods used to create, but in human hands, it causes much havoc.

There are many mysteries in the World of Asunder. Some are just beneath the surface of the land, and some have caused the dead to rise, consuming all in their path. Where are demons birthed? What do the Naga want? Is the world truly coming to an end? Is Gaia the mother of the planet, or simply devouring the humans in it? To find answers, some form bands of Seekers: powerful, adventurous individuals, outcasts in search of more. Their story is your story.

Hey folks,
so I love this game but have run into a bit of an issue. Chaos Gear is mentioned multiple times, with different pages stating it is found in Chapter 8 OR Chapter 9. Sadly, no examples of Chaos Gear are to be found in either of those chapters (unless I've missed it). Can anyone help me out or give me directions on where to find examples?

Is it only for me but it appears that all the tables in the book do not have any header, only a black box with no text. Same thing with the Keeper Tome’s. The initial BackerKit version was OK regrading this.

Tables show up well for me. Using Foxit Reader on Windows. I haven't tried other software.

You guys might to change the product listing to actually include Asunder, since right now it's only listed as Seeker's Guide. Same with The Keepers Tome. Might be hard for people to do a search and find your books.

It uses the base system that Shadow of the Demon Lord uses. D20 + modifier, with bonus or penalty d6s based on circumstances.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
