Welcome to Magento's Marvellous Waxworks, a premium adventure module for a party of 3-5 players of 1st-level that will see the PCs reach 3rd- or even 4th-level by its conclusion. A single purchase provides the complete adventure for 5th Edition, Pathfinder First Edition, and Pathfinder Second Edition. Premium and Printer-friendly editions are also provided for each game system, along with a premium content package covering all three supported game systems for Foundry VTT and a variety of digital files and extra bonus materials.

   The adventure tells the strange and whimsical tale of a prolific sculptor whose waxwork creations come alive and turn on him. It opens with the PCs attending an exclusive masquerade ball—either as guests or 'the help'—that is beset by bizarre wax sculptures of exotic animals which have inexplicably come to life. It then sees them journey to the strange waxwork museum of the sculptures' eccentric creator, Magento Baronus, before finally tracing the origins of the mysterious material to a nearby warehouse where the PCs are able to resolve the curious case of the wacky wax once and for all.

I just purchased this module and the quality of the adventure looks great! However, is there a way for me to get an unprotected pdf? I use another program to run my game and the ability to copy from the pdf is essential for me to organize the information.

Hi James, thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you like the look of the adventure. I don't know if it will change or not in the future, but I'm afraid we don't currently offer unprotected PDFs for any of our content.

Hi... new to VTTs and I've bought this as my first pack to play around with in Foundry... how do I find the module. I can't find any reference to it in the download, or anywhere in the Foundry app. Any help please? Thanks!

I'll try to explain the steps you need to take below. 1. Purchase the module, find your Foundry VTT license key in your purchase note, and make a note of it. If you missed it at the time of purchase, just go to the Account tab on DriveThruRPG, scroll down to My Orders, and click View on the order that includes Magento's Marvellous Waxworks. You'll find the key is there.

2. Go to https://foundryvtt.com/, log in, go to your profile area, and then click on Purchased Content. Enter your license key here to activate your content.

3. Now that your premium content is activated, you can return to the Foundry app and install/activate/use...See more

I purchased this for the Foundry VTT content, however, all the it does is load with errors on foundryvtt. - no maps, no actors, nothing.

I found no mention or warning this wasn't compatible with VTT 10 or I would haven't have purchased it.

is there any kind of update?

Hi Mark, apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I'm sorry for the issues you've been having accessing your content. Unfortunately, V.10 created a lot of compatibility issues and caused pretty much all modules to break, including ours. Since V.10 came out, we've gone back and patched everything up so that it's working as intended again. It seems, however, that things have broken once more. We'll revisit the modules again and get them all working properly again as soon as possible. You should see a patch go into effect that fixes everything in the next week or so. It would be sooner but I'm afraid our technical officer, who's the only person with the know-how to fix everything, isn't available for the next couple of days. We will have everything fixed before too long though. I've got your email and I'll keep you posted as to the status of the patch. Thanks for making us aware of the issue.

No problem at all - this is just for a future introduction to FoundryVTT and D&D game for some old friends and so this isn't any kind of rush-must-be-done-now sort of thing. I am sorry to hear things broke, but as I work in IT, I know how updates break functionality in things ALL the time :)

I appreciate your response and glad you got the email, I was hopeful that might help. I'm just glad to know it's still supported and being fixed. I'll keep an eye out for updates.

Hi,

before I buy this, I wanted to check up on this issue. I'm new to the Foundry eco system, but on it's official site it says your module is only compatible to versions up to Foundry 0.8.8

Do I have to expect any issues when I buy it right now and use it with 0.10?

Hi Yannick! I must apologise for the lack of a print option when you checked. There were some issues behind the scenes and it wasn't available at the time. However, we've adjusted things and Magento's Marvellous Waxworks can now be ordered in print again. I'm afraid there's no hardcover option, but you can order both softcover colour and softcover black-&-white. Please also note that we'll be making print versions of the product for Pathfinder First Edition and Pathfinder Second Edition available over the coming weeks. Whichever edition you order in physical print, you will still receive all digital and VTT versions of the adventure. Thanks for checking out the adventure!

Hi Craig, thanks for your comment. We're looking at launching the Pathfinder First Edition version next week, with Pathfinder Second Edition arriving one (at the earliest) or two (at the latest) weeks later. With regards how we'll be packaging it, a single purchase of Magento's Marvellous Waxworks will provide you with the adventure for all three game systems/rule sets, both digitally (PDFs, etc) and for Foundry VTT. So you won't have to pay twice for anything besides physically printed books, for obvious reasons. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or queries.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
