Achtung! Cthulhu 2d20: Seventh-Inning Slaughter!

Play ball on the Field of Screams!

Even the bravest of agents need some well-deserved rest and recreation. Amid the stress and strains of fighting the Secret War, your agents find themselves enjoying a rare moment of downtime in Rockford, Illinois.

A small town typical of middle America’s heartland, nothing exciting ever usually happens in Rockford, but this Saturday it plays host to the Kenosha Comets who take on the Rockford Peaches in the All-American Girls Baseball League— and the guest of honour is President Franklin D Roosevelt himself.

What no-one realises is that sinister forces are at work and they intend to use this game to make a statement that no-one is safe from the forces of the Nazi occult, not even in America’s heartland! Can your agents unravel the strange events unfolding at Beyer Stadium, neutralise the threat to the President, and stop these forces before the Fourth of July is marred by the greatest tragedy ever on American soil?

  • Seventh Innings Slaughter! is a standalone 28-page PDF adventure for Achtung! Cthulhu 2d20 for 4-6 agents, with both full colour and printer friendly versions
  • A unique American home front scenario which contains full rules for baseball fans and non-fans alike.
  • Features four pre-generated agents specifically made for this baseball-based mission, plus handouts, including a full colour map of Bayer Stadium
  • Playable with the Achtung! Cthulhu 2d20 Quickstart rules, although the full Achtung! Cthulhu 2d20 core books are recommended.

I only have the quickstart so far, not even sure if the full version is available yet. But we're starting with this adventure. There's some missing info, such as for Tommy Leblanc's Special Rules and Jorg's spells, as well as how ritual magic works, which isn't covered in the quickstart. Is that info only available in the full version, or did I miss something? Any chance of getting a briefing on the missing bits, or should I just try to work around it? We were hoping to try this out next week....

This info is included in the Player's Guide - whilst the Quickstart is playable there are some abilities not covered. We're now moving towards more developed Quickstarts that have what you 'need' to play but also extra information that is beneficial if you have the core book or players guides.

I grew up in Rockford (and still live nearby); the Rockford Peaches are still kind of a big deal here! But Kinosha should be spelled Kenosha (for the city in Wisconsin).

Thanks Todd, a small typo crept in there, which we've fixed. That's fantastic to hear they are still going and hope you enjoy the scenario!

Ditto for me Todd. Finally a Cthulhu scenario set in my hometown! I never thought of Rockford as a "small town", since when I lived there it was the 2nd largest city in Illinois (after Chicago naturally). But it does (or did) exemplify midwest heartland values. :)

Okay, who are you people in Rockford and why aren't we playing CoC together? LOL

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
