0one's Blueprints: Domain of Blood - The Domain

This Blueprint presents a overview of Vladimir Drake s’ Domain.

The Drake’s Castle overlooks the vale, standing atop a impossibly high pinnacle, like a crow sitting on a banner pole. A long and scary road leads to the castle going through the Ghostwood spectral forest. Although it’s an impressive building, the castle it is not the sole feature of the vale.

The Ghostwood forest occupies most of the domain and it s largely unexplored, at least by the inhabitants of the nearby village. It is said that Count Vladimir knows the forest perfectly even if no one saw him outside his fortress.

The Crimson River cuts the vale in half. A couple of bridges cross it, but few people use them because they both lead to Drake’s Castle, and no one is so crazy to go there.

People of the vale do not like intruders so, the sole inn of the region is located far from Blackraven Village, on the shores of the Crimson River.

Blackraven Village is a gloomy bunch of houses sitting at the feet of the Raven’s Hill. This small community do their best to survive in such a dreaded land.

Welcome to Øone’s Blueprints!
The Blueprints product line offers you old-fashioned blue printed maps for using in your adventures and campaigns. For each map you get a blueprint version and a standard black and white version. The maps are all vector-based so you will get maximum print resolution. Despite their old fashioned appearance each map offers you a degree of customization, using the pdf technology at its best. A button (which will not be printed) on each map allows you to turn on and off the grid, eliminate the room numbers, get the walls filled, don’t show doors and furniture and many other options, depending on the kind of map.
Each product features a classic fantasy adventure location: a dungeon, a keep, a temple complex, a thieves guild and so on. You can use these map as reference to build your own adventures or simply take them at hand in case your players go in an unexpected direction during the campaign.
While offering you the best quality, these products are really inexpensive.

I cannot get the hex or square grids to appear on this product. Selecting the option in layers does nothing. I have tried removing all layers and only having the grid selected but it makes no difference. Is this an error with the product or does this product not include a grid?

This particular product does not feature grids, only a metric scale. The Rule the Dungeon button in each page shows the options available.

I understand but your advert above includes:

Features
• Rule the Dungeon.
• Enhanced customization (choose which features are visible)
• Alternative hexagonal grid
• "North" mark available and orientable
• Master control panel allows you to control all the maps at once
• Buttons for printing only blue maps or black and white maps

You may want to amend your product pages to reflect what each product can actually do as advertising features the product does not contain is in many cases against the law.

I understand, but, for example, in the domain map you don't have fill, furniture, doors, simply because they are not present in the map. Instead you have the option "trees" which is not advertised. I tried to explain this here:

"Despite their old fashioned appearance each map offers you a degree of customization, using the pdf technology at its best. A button (which will not be printed) on each map allows you to turn on and off the grid, eliminate the room numbers, get the walls filled, don’t show doors and furniture and many other options, depending on the kind of map."

But maybe I was unclear. Anyway I suggest you to download for free the Blue Book 2013 which contains, product by product, the options available.

If you still feel unhappy, I would be glad to refund you or offer another equivalent product for free.

A refund wont be needed - it's still a useful product. I just bought the PDF because I needed a hex grid overly and your product description isnt very clear. While "furniture" is obviously not on the map, it's not unreasonable to think a hex map will be included on a collection of exterior maps.

It's not the end of the world, though. I just wasnt sure if the product I downloaded was faulty. :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
