FinalHorizon: Welcome to Qorith... (Pre-Kickstarter Promo Release)
by Spencer B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 06/30/2022 16:27:06

I'm very impressed by the quality of this module! For the first expansion of such a young company, it's huge and delivers much more than expected. I'm extremely happy with this purchase. It sets a great mood with lots of plot and quest lines.

FinalHorizon Core Rulebook (BETA)
by Spencer B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 06/27/2022 10:46:02

FinalHorizon is great! I've been able to get my friends involved, as well as some pick up games with younger relatives who enjoy the creativity. The framework provides lots of room for creativity, and can even be flavored to other settings. One nephew asked if they could be a jedi, since star wars is popular and it took ZERO effort to adopt this game to the Star Wars Universe! It's robust and has a lot of character within it's bones. I can see FinalHorizon being in my rotation of Tabletop RPGs for a long time to come!

FinalHorizon: Welcome to Qorith... (Pre-Kickstarter Promo Release)

I've been a fan of DiceKnightGames since the original FinalDungeon, which doesn't even seem to be available anymore. FinalHorizon is an amazing rules-light system that really flexes narrative over mechanics. There's a firm foundation, but not enough to get in the way; this game really allows players and GMs to be creative in an intuitive way. When i saw there was a sandbox module I flipped; husband and the group have been homebrewing a FH for over six months and are so excited for this module that we dropped the campaign we're in. Read through it because this is going to be my first time GMing and I'm confident I can do it with this module :)

If you are looking for a very loose rules rpg then this is the one for you. If you need a lot of rules or like a bit more structure I do not think this would be a good pick for you. Overall, I love it. It is a near perfect system for homebrewing something really amazing without putting in a lot of work to make everything from scratch. The character traits have a lot of playability and character creation is wicked quick. I haven't played through the included sandbox module yet but reading it sounds like a really good first FinalHorizon game until you get the hang of the system. The system is quick to pick up and works really well if you are a group that loves to get deep into roleplay. I would say the limits of the game are...the FinalHorizon....or at least as far as your sci-fi imagination and the GM will allow you.

FinalHorizon Core Rulebook (BETA)

Simple. Easy. Quick! Infinite Aliens! I like this game because it does not restrict you on how you want to characters to look. Want to play as your favourite Alien from Star Wars, Star Trek or any other SciFi media? Just pick your class and organism which fits the theme best and off you go. FinalHorizon allows its simple ruleset to apply to many situations, it does not restrict you what you character can do only because there is an ability you would have to unlock first to be able to do that.

FinalDungeon
by Sunny K. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/19/2021 17:42:18

My husband is a huge D&D nut and loves fantasy genre anything. I tried about half a dozen times to get into it but I always get bored and burned out because I prefer rules light games so I can focus more on my character and narrative. Our friend downloaded FinalDungeon for free and recommended we try it to bridge the gap and last night we had the most fun we've had together playing tabletops yet. He loved the classic retro fantasy vibe and basically understood everything in an hour. He put together a one off and ran it like he'd played this system a hundred times and I loved being able to take a more roleplay heavy approach instead of having to constantly refer back to the rulebook. Hubby is going to take one of his old D&D modules I couldn't make it through and we're going to try it again using FD instead. We downloaded the scifi expansion and will review that one next week after a one off.

FinalHorizon Core Rulebook (BETA)

If you like playing or GMing SciFi themed ttrpgs then I would pick this up. It has a low bar for entry as far as learning the mechanics, with most things based off a d10 for a result. This gives the system a streamlined feeling for efficient play. What I found most important and enjoyable is that the rules don't get in the way of when you are wanting to do something cool. I could think about what I want to do first then figure out how the rules aid me in the story telling of the situation rather than the other way around. StarFinder ain't got nothing on this little bad boy and I can't wait to see what else is released from DiceKnight Games and how they build upon what they have.

FinalHorizon Core Rulebook (BETA)

FinalHorizon (the sci-fi setting to the FinalSeries) does a great job of doing a lot with little needed mechanics. With an easy to understand system of eight stats that are used with a multitude of rolls, along with a 1d10, the rules are easy to get a grasp of. All checks are made with these eight attributes, with the classes in the game manipulating or basing themselves off one of the key stats: the Psionic attacking with Psi, or the Drifter substituting any other skill check with Fate! Paired along with the special abilities chosen both by your class and your race (here called 'Organisms'), there are a variety of different combinations to try out and experiment with!

Paired with interesting items to use in or out of combat, special maneuvers when facing enemies, and the fact that making NPCs is easy since they too also go by Class, Organism, and chosen attributes, and you'll find FinalHorizon is not only a game that's great for players, but also to GM too! I urge you to try it out, and to be on the lookout for any of the publisher's other works, whether already out or in the future.

After my initial foray into RPG games, this is one of the most newbie-friendly and rules-clean systems I've ever had the pleasure of not only downloading it but also playing in it as a character! 100% recommend this system!

FinalDungeon
by Spencer B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 07/24/2021 10:02:10

Dungeons and Dragons is great, but sometimes as complex as it is, it can also be limiting. FinalDungeon is a wonderfully crafted and thought out experience with a tight knit mechanic system. It's easy to create a character concept from the Race/Class system and get right into the story. The simplicity of the stat system, rolling, and creation is to the Benefit of the Game! Less time looking up rules, more time playing, creating, and narrating with friends. FinalDungeon is a great game for all ages, but really shines as an introduction to TTRPGs in general! I've probably used this system for 5 games or so now crafting different characters each time. If you are a long time DM/GM and want to homebrew a world, try this system. If you are a GM and want to expose nieces, nehphews, or those who have never played, this system is for you.

Looks like a great way to get my family in to a fun/rules light Tabletop RPG. I also got the first game FinalDungon and would definitely recommend for new people and even veterans to the Tabletop games.

FinalDungeon
by Bob V. G. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/16/2020 21:10:07

The Magical Armory Gamebook is $1.50 at the moment on DriveThruRPG. This fun adventure is 84 pages long and has 90 “chapters”. There was a lot of combat (that is a good thing), but also attribute tests and skill tests. I decided to try it with FinalDungeon (free/pay what you want at DriveThruRPG . I rolled up an orc white mage. For this gamebook, I gave him a strength of 4, a wisdom of 5, a constitution of 3, and three hit points (other attributes equal one). I used the one hit equals one point of damage. So, a goblin has a STR 2 and CON 2 as does the shark slug. The orc had a STR 2 and a CON 3 (examples). My orc did find one golden item, but he was not able to keep it. He did come out of the adventure with three magic items. The most tense moment was when he was in a small dungeon and triggered a trap. He took damage, was poisoned, and was dying. He had to cast his cure poison spell. If the roll failed, he would have died. But he survived! Oh, and I did use a solo engine because I had some questions for the oracle. Have fun!

Final Dungeon is 46 pages long. Everything is done with a ten-sided die. There are seven races and seven classes. There is no list of spells, weapons, armor, and monsters. I can understand why there is no list of monsters. As a game master, I would look at how the players did their characters and then I would build the monsters. Give this a try!
