If you're going to go, go out with a bang.
This product is a fitting end to the plotlines and story that was written during the course of the Third Edition of Shadowrun. Not only do the events set up the timeline that would eventually arrive in Shadowrun Fourth Edition, but we also say farewell to some of the key players and movers and shakers in the Sixth World. The fiction is well-written, and several plot-hooks are available in each section dealing with the build-up and fallout from the biggest event to hit the Sixth World yet, a Crash of the wired Matrix. And while much of it deals with an ending to things (whether it is a beloved character or a hated enemy or a looming threat), it also deals with new beginnings, which sets up the upcoming timeline of Shadowrun Fourth Edition.
I personally get the feeling that this adventure, while open-ended enough to include runners of all types, was specifically made for the veteran runner at the prime or perhaps end of his/her career. Many of the threats seem over-the-top, and some can only be really tackled by the established runner who is willing to give it the best they've got.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of the Sixth World. I would not recommend this book for folks who don't intend to play out the Sixth World past the year 2064.
It's the end of the (Sixth) world as we know it, and I feel fine.
